Being informed in your letter of EBRA`s fine achievements however, does not surprise us in the least. If all renovations undertaken by EBRA are to the quality level of what our
residence ended up, which we are sure they are, then these awards are well deserved. Once again, congratulations to all.

"Our second story addition is just about complete thanks to EBRA. Thank you for informing me that you have just received an award for NSW Professional Renovator Builder of the Year 2006. I thought you might like to know why you won this from my perspective.

The first contact with EBRA was Charles Tabone who really listened to our needs and produced a design that was both functional and aesthetically appealing.

He also made recommendations and provided guidance on other items that were not directly linked to the renovation but were very helpful.

Then came Tom Ravese who project managed the renovation. He again demonstrated EBRA`s philosophy of 'listening' to the customer and was empowered to make on-the-spot decisions that ensured the project ran smoothly. Even when I wanted to do a couple of stupid things during the project, Tom was able to talk me out of it, without making me feel stupid.

I have heard that the way a number of builders work in the construction industry is to win the job by giving you a rock bottom quote and then making all their margin on variations. This is not the way EBRA works. Once you agree on a price upfront it is pretty much locked in. The only variations we encountered were discretionary from us changing our mind. Even if there was a doubt about a change, Tom and the team at EBRA tended to make a decision in the customer's favour, which is rarely seen in any industry, let alone the construction industry.

The real jewel in the crown for EBRA are their trades people. Our renovation was quite difficult. As Jon, the carpenter put it, "there was not one stick of timber in the job that was the same". Jon and Eddie were extremely professional in their approach to their work, from the framing and structural work to the craftsmanship of their fine joinery work. There were a couple of mistakes made during the job and like Tom they quickly fixed the problems, without any discussion. They just got on with it!"

I was constantly on the phone to Tom, with my concerns - nothing was a problem and he attended to the tasks so quickly and efficiently.

What can I say about Jon and Eddie - they were such a joy to have in our home. Again, nothing was an issue.

I could go on, but all the tradesmen from plumbers, electricians, bricklayers, roof-tilers, wardrobe fitters, scaffolding etc, all conducted themselves in a professional manner.

Thanks to Pam for her understanding and to Charles a special thanks. Charles is an excellent communicator who has good people skills and a thorough understanding of building design and construction. He was able to use his abilities to good effect in redrawing our original plans. The practical redesign whilst only small in each detail is something we greatly appreciate on a daily basis and will certainly add to resale value.

Charles also took time to effectively explain exactly what was involved in the specification and contract thus avoiding any later misunderstanding.

"It is well over a year since EBRA completed the extensive 1st floor extension on our home. For many months I have planned to write you a letter telling you how absolutely tremendous this experience was, and how completely happy we are with the results.

Firstly, Pam is one of the most helpful, efficient and polite secretaries I have ever communicated with. Even a year after we have paid our last

account, she has, on more than one occasion, been of assistance to us.

Scott McDougall, who designed our extension, was just fantastic. He consulted with us on many occasions, doing and redoing the design until we were absolutely happy. He was helpful and friendly and the drawings he produced were exceptional. He dealt with Council and made the first phase of the job pass without any difficulties for us.

The Foreman for our job, Tom, was always reliable, professional and uncompromising about the quality of the work done on our house. He attended to absolutely every one of our requests in a supportive and helpful way.

The carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other tradesmen who worked on our house were all excellent. They were reliable, first class professionals and the quality of the work they have produced is fantastic. They even cleaned up after themselves !

Finally, Roy, thank you so much for your generous support of us during the time of our building extension. You went beyond your contractual obligations to make sure we were happy, and we sincerely appreciate that.

Our dealings with EBRA have always been a pleasure and, instead of the horror stories that others tell of their building experiences, we have only good memories and praise. We would recommend your company to anyone, and would have no hesitation in contracting EBRA to do another extension for us."
