ABOUT US - HISTORY OF EBRA
|
|
On 12 May 2007 EBRA CONSTRUCTIONS was the winner of the 2007 HIA-Vero AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL RENOVATOR of the year award. The HIA Australian Housing Awards recognise and reward innovation and excellence in the design and construction of housing on a national basis. With a very vigorous competition we are justifiably extremely proud of our success in winning this prestigious Australian Housing Award.
EBRA CONSTRUCTIONS Pty Ltd started as a family company and
although we have expanded over the years, we still maintain the
family atmosphere.
The
company was started by Ted and Roy Allen in March 1975 and operated
from Ted's home in Winston Hills. Ted was in charge of the construction
work and Roy covered the designing and office work.
|
|
In
1976 they were joined by Roy's wife, Judy, who took over some
of the office and accounts work. In November 1979 we moved to
the current premises in Pendle Hill.
In 1988 Ted retired and the company went through another developmental
stage as Roy took over as General Manager with the help of Judy,
who now manages the office and accounting.

EBRA
CONSTRUCTIONS has
built up an excellent reputation in both the design and
construction fields. The company obtains in excess of 90% of
its business through recommendation. This is because we
have many satisfied clients who tell their families and
friends about us.
Over
the last 34 years the company has been a finalist in many
building awards but in November 1994 all the hard work paid
off and culminated in EBRA making an almost clean sweep
of the Housing Industry Association Awards for Renovations
and Additions. |
|
 |
EBRA
CONSTRUCTIONS also won the Top Home Improvement of the Year award
for a 1st floor addition at Merrylands in the under $80,000 category.
Roy was ecstatic and all 1600 people in the Darling Harbour Convention
Centre knew it!
The
following week EBRA
CONSTRUCTIONS won yet another award in the Baulkham Hills Shire
Council's second Building Design Awards, where one entry was a
finalist and the other entry the winner of Renovations/Extensions
over the value of $80,000. |
In
May 1995 the company was fortunate enough to be a finalist in
the HIA National Housing Awards in the 1995 Australian Home Improvement
Project of the Year category. Just to be a finalist in the National
Awards of such a high profile association as the HIA is a great
achievement for the company. |
As
you can see from our awards section, we have continued to
have finalists or winners in both the HIA Awards and the
Baulkham Hills Awards nearly every year since 1994.
|
In April 2005 the company was entered into the Parramatta City Heritage Awards for the first time and was fortunate in being a winner with a High Commendation.
To
be able to keep up these high standards gives everyone in
the company great satisfaction and proves continuity of
both quality in design and construction. Currently
on our team we have two extremely talented Building Design
Consultants in Charles Tabone and Scott McDougall, who are
both award winning designers,and a |
 |
very capable draftsman,
Noel Casal. Out on site supervising our numerous trades
we have two highly competent Managers in Tom Ravese and
Rick Woodleigh. In the office we have our invaluable office
administrator Pam and an accounts assistant, Carolyn.
All
of our team, which includes staff and subcontractors, are to
be commended for their co-operation, hard work and consistent
high quality of workmanship which we will endeavour to maintain
on all additions we have the pleasure of building in the
future.
